The film follows a pickpocket, Roshan (Dev Anand), who inadvertently causes the suicide of a man whose pocket he picks. He goes to the dead man’s village to return the money he stole where he falls in love with the deceased’s sister, Shukal (Geeta Bali). It turns out the dead man himself had stolen the money in desperation for his impoverished family and the money itself was part of takings from a huge bank robbery. Add to this the nightclub (Hotel Paris!) with shady activities and of course, the dancing girl, Rita (Nadira), hovering seductively around our hero!
