Hindi, Drama, 1962, B/W

Cast And Crew

Kamal (Sunil Dutt) and Gayatri (Meena Kumari) fall in love, marry secretly and part as Kamal goes abroad. Kamal's father (Gajanan Jagirdar), a zamindar, finds out about the marriage but he asks Gayatri not to reveal it to anyone. Gayatri agrees. However, she is pregnant and even when her father (Nana Palsikar) turns against her, she doesn't tell him she is married to Kamal. On his return, Kamal finds out that Gayatri has left the village and has given birth to a child. He concludes she has been unfaithful to him and starts drinking. He then thinks of re-marriage before things get sorted out in an all's-well-that-ends-well ending.
